Let me introduce to you my dear friend and well-wisher, Paisley. In short, she is tall (LOL), lives in Austin, TX and has always been passionate about her work in creative and marketing. My most favorite thing about her is her undeniable honesty even when you’re not looking for it or expecting it, not to mention she brings comfort to my life and keeps me young.

I have known Paisley for over 13 years, but became her well-wisher a few years ago when her father past away. As with anyone who grew up with a sick parent, her strength came from knowing at a young age that she would lose her father sooner in her life than she would have liked. Experiencing loss in my own life helped me provide a special kind of comfort to her during this time.

Now it is my turn to tell you a little bit about my friend and well-wisher, Mellissa. She is an outstanding mother, who is married to her soulmate, lives in Merion Station, PA and changes people’s minds and bodies everyday with her desire to be a personal trainer. My most favorite thing about her is she is as real as a human being could be, she is undefeated and a true inspiration.

As she said above, she herself has experienced loss, and it was not until she was pregnant with her second child that I paid a visit to her that would change our role in each others lives forever. I admire her and am so grateful for our friendship.

A well-wisher, in our own words, is someone who selflessly wants the best for you, cheers you on and supports your opinion even if it differs. In our case, it is someone who is an unlikely friend that is there for you in a time of unbearable loss, someone who validates your sadness and doesn’t rush you to heal; but is there when you’re ready to go down that road.

We often reflect on how much we value each other’s friendship. One evening, over a glass of wine, we talked about how incredible it has been to be there for each other through the years.
